I believe art is a gift.

Not just the tangible physical work, but the process of creating it. I find my inspiration in God’s creation. The water, layers of the trees, texture of the marsh grasses and every beautiful view in between.

This is what my process looks like:

• A casual after dinner walk to the boat dock with my family.

• Turn the same corner I’ve turned for nearly a decade and BOOM!

• I’m struck with awe and wonder at the Lord’s artistry as if I’m witnessing the view for the first time.

• Several “Oh my goodness!” and “Do y’all see what an amazing artist God is??” comments later - plus a few photos for memories sake - and we continue you on our way.

• Back in the studio (AKA my kitchen table), I recall the photo and the moment. I recognize that I am not the original Creator and humbly do my best to capture the scene on paper with acrylics.

My mission as an artist is to evoke awe and wonder in God’s creation with every brush stroke. To credit the original Artist. To offer joy and hope and inspiration through small scale paintings.
